Look Whooooos Back!

Well after a verrrrry long break I am back and I'm ready to get right back in the swing of things! I had a very good (and very cute!) reason for taking such a long break:Almost a year ago I had my second child, Danika, and I haven't done anything crafty since. Its hard when little fingers and demanding schedules are always getting in the way :)

Since my daughter is the reason I took time off from crafting I thought it only fitting that the first project I should post are the invitations I am making for her birthday party.
I am happy with the end product and am now in mid-process with getting all the pieces done and put together. I love the owl and we will be going with an owl theme for the party so I thought these fit in rather nicely. I will be posting some more birthday owl crafts as the party date gets closer, so stay tuned!!

My First Beate Weekend Sketch!

This weekend I made a card for the Beate Weekend Sketch Challenge. I used my new set "From our home to yours" by Hero Arts. I stamped the house twice and then two trees in between the houses. Ive just discovered the "bending" of clear stamps to make them look different, so I bent the top of my tree two different ways to make them each look slightly different. And of course now that I'm looking at it I could have stretched out one of my houses to make them look different also. Oh well, I guess there's always a next time! I colored in my image using my Stampendous chalks. Then I added this great ribbon in the corners and the scallop sentiment along with a finishing touch of rhinestones. I love how simple this card was and the sketch was very easy to re-create!
Enjoy and have a fabulous day!

Sleigh Full of Presents

Well Ive officially started on the christmas cards. Im the type of person that will start with one design, decide to mass produce it and then a week later completly hate the design and start over again. So this year I will be making a different for card for every person on my list!!! Its going to be a challenge, but at least you will get to see a lot of cards!!
This card started out with this great Oriental Trading paper that has glitter on it. Then I layered it on DCWV Metallic Paper to make it even more shimmery. I cut out the "snow piles" with white card stock and then inked them with Martha Stewart's Silver Ink. The stamped image is one I received a while back and am unsure about the origin. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to the next card I will posting which is a sentiment only card!
On one final note I want to say Thank You to everyone who voted yesterday. It is such a blessing to be part of such a great nation and I am looking forward to our future!
Have a great night!

Sisters In Pink

For today's card I used a stamped image I received a while back in an image swap. I loved the soft look of the chalking on the image so I decided to use a soft pink theme for the card. I layered everything and then added the black and pink striped ribbon for a punch of darkness and then added the half pearls to the side of the card.

I will be stamping today so look for some more cards to come this week!

Have a fabulous day :)

Scallop Punch See Through Card

Today's card is all Purple!!! (with a bit of black, lol). For this card I used my 1 1/2" circle punch as well as my 2" scallop punch. I layered purple card stock for my base and then cut completely through the card with the scallop punch. I then placed my purple scallop on the inside of the card showing through. This gives a very neat effect when opened. The sentiment I used is from an unknown as of yet set with lots of cute animals and cute sayings in it. (Thought it was Stampendous, but cant seem to find it). Then I added some gemstones and black ribbon and Voila!

Another Wedding Craft...

Since I didn't have time to post the place cards I made before the wedding I wanted to show them to you now. They were very simple to mass produce but have a very striking look to them, especially with the one pearl in the middle.
I put the place cards in a circle around the centerpieces on the tables and it gave such a neat look to to the table as a whole. It took approximately 3 hours to make 100 of these.

Recipe:
Cardstock: Red and Black from LSS
Other: Calligraphy Pen, Ribbon from Michaels, Half Pearls (brand unknown)
